As a long-time user of various amp simulation plugins, I grew weary of the constant reinvention and re-packaging of the same impulse response (IR) files. In response to this frustration, I developed AnyAmpIR—a comprehensive tool designed to provide musicians with immediate access to a diverse range of amplifier sounds without the typical overhead.

My name is Michael, and I'm the creator of a video series titled GAS Therapy on my YouTube channel, playpm. This series focuses on affordable and effective solutions for musicians seeking quality gear. AnyAmpIR allows users to utilize any guitar or bass amplifier sound effortlessly. By simply batch loading your collection of IR files and saving it as a preset within your digital audio workstation (DAW), you can dive straight into playing melodies without being overwhelmed by numerous controls. Typically around 20KB in size, these studio-quality IR files are readily available for free, enabling users to create custom versions suited to their preferences. While IR files do not replicate amp distortion directly, they can be effectively paired with overdrive or distortion effects for a customized sound experience.
